About Note Cards!

All About Note Cards

Note Cards are can be used for a variety of reason - to write a simple "thank you" for a nice dinner party or to write a note to a friend wishing them a speedy recovery from an illness. When deciding on the style of your note card, it is advisable to use the smaller size card that can be folded from top to bottom. The outside usually contains the words "thank you" or you can purchase personalized note cards with you name on the outside. The inside of the note card usually has your message to the recipient.

Note cards are used much more frequently than the standard thank you cards that are usually sent to thank someone for a specific item. Note cards can be used for a variety of additional purposes such as:

- Get well soon
- Congratulations
- Missing you
- Thinking of you
- Anniversary
- Encouragement
- Inspiration
- Sympathy
- Bereavement
- Love
- Birthday Cards
- Best Wishes
- Religious
- And many, many more uses

You should store your note cards where they are easily accessible so you won't hesitate too long or forget too easily to write your special note. If you are unsure when and to whom you should send a personal note, the quick and easy question is, "does the person you are considering sending the personal note to live under your same roof"? If the answer is NO, then you should send your personalized note.

Note Cards Etiquette

Writing a personal note to a family member, friend, co-worker, acquaintance or others should not be a burden or a lesson in perfect social etiquette. That should not be your concern! A thoughtful, sincere and genuine expression of your feelings is the most important issue.

In writing a personal note card, it would be helpful to keep these thoughts and suggestions in mind:

Address the person receiving the note card by name: Dale Carnegie taught us that people love to hear their own name, and direct marketing companies have taught us that people love to see their name in print.

Express the purpose of your note card: If the purpose is to thank them for a gift, their time or whatever, state that. If the purpose is to express your hope that the person will get well soon, state that. The first paragraph should be used to let the recipient know why you are writing.

Write about the particulars or the use: For thank you cards, say how you will use the gift. For note cards used for other purposes, express you thoughts and regards for other matters

Repeat original thank you message: Allow a short sentence or phrase to repeat your original purpose in an abbreviated form. If thank you, simply state, "I want to thank you one more time".

Give regards: The note card should close with love, sincerely, in appreciation or some similar
