Formality

When you are working on the corporate wording, formality is going to be an issue. In most cases, you're going to want to be very formal. That means your salutation should be written in a formal style, such as "Mr. Steve Johnson" or "Mrs. Eleanor Jenkins." The rest of your invitation business should also be carefully worded. For example, if you were writing new business announcements you might write something such as the following:

Dear Mrs. Eleanor Jenkins:

Our companies have shared a mutually beneficial relationship since 1998. Your partnership in our success is always appreciated which is why we wanted alert you to the exciting news our company is about to announce prior for making this news public. On September 1st, we will be celebrating this news with a party at our corporate headquarters, and we would be delighted if you and a guest could attend.

This new announcement will represent a new period of growth for our firm, and we want you - one of our long-time partners - to be a part of it.

Details about the event are included with this message, along with the RSVP information.

Exceptions to Formality

There will be cases when the above corporate words may be too formal. For example, maybe you are trying to communicate directly with customers. In those events, you want to focus primarily on creating the tone that is going to be most effective at winning over those clients. That means you may want to seem casual, fun-loving, academic, etc. You know your customers better than anyone so that decision is always going to be yours.

Remember that you should use an appropriate salutation. You may not want to use a very formal title but you can use something more general but still very specific. For example, "Dear Parent" or "Hello Neighbor" or something similar.

Business Wordings: Other Etiquette

While working on the Business Wordings, you should also keep in mind some other etiquette rules. One of the most important of these rules is how soon you should start mailing out the corporate invitations and announcements business. You should send out these cards at least one month in advance because the individuals who will be receiving them need plenty of time to get their schedules worked out. It may be a good idea to follow up the first example of business wording with a reminder so guests won't forget your important event.
